The Sims 2: Castaway is the third spin-off of The Sims 2 video game. It was released on October 22, 2007, for Nintendo DS, Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. After the release of The Sims 2 and The Sims 2: Pets, this part is considered the final title released in the series for both PS2 and PSP. I love this game to this day, and it’s extremely enjoyable. I can play for long hours without getting bored. It allows you to explore other islands, make new friendships, build skills, and much more.

The game begins on a boat after the player forms a crew of characters. The crew can consist of one to six Sims. After creating the crew, a slideshow begins showing some mobile phone pictures taken during the trip, also showing the storm that wrecked the ship. The player’s Sim wakes up, the one they started playing, on the first beach of the shipwreck island. The Sim finds books detailing the goals that the Sim must follow to survive on the islands and escape. After a short time exploring the shipwreck island, the Sim discovers a second island, the Airplane Island, which is much larger and more interesting than the first. They build a raft to reach the new location. Upon arriving at the island, the Sim reunites with some of their missing crew members. The player then has the option to form a Sim tribe if the relationship is strong enough.

While exploring the Airplane Island, the player finds the required radio parts to complete a later goal in the game. A third island, the Volcano Island, can be accessed once the player finds the second beach on the Airplane Island and builds a raft. On the Volcano Island, the player discovers remnants of the Llama people. The player has the option to either return to civilization on this island. They can either build a boat or travel to the top of the volcano and use the radio parts to send an SOS signal to a nearby ship. The player can also fix a broken ceremonial mask on Volcano Island, which will cause a fourth island, Crystal Island, to rise from the sea, but this is optional and not necessary for the player to escape the island. The game has many discoverable secrets, including secret areas like Hidden Lagoon and Secret Pirate’s Cove. These areas can only be accessed once the player collects items like hieroglyphics and pieces of treasure map, but this is a relatively extensive process.
