The Force Unleashed is a third-person action game where the player’s primary weapons are the Force and a lightsaber. Developers treated the lightsaber as the main character’s personal Force, aiming to ensure “something deep and wonderful” with each button press. The game features a combo system for lightsaber attacks and combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers. Players use experience points gained by killing enemies and finding artifacts to enhance Starkiller’s abilities. The gameplay is designed to be easy to learn, and the developers made efforts to make the game accessible. Players can run and gun in the game casually, but it rewards those who take a stealthy tactical approach. The game includes enemies that are easy to defeat, but their numbers can overwhelm the player. Additionally, enemies learn from the player’s attacks, and using the same attack on different characters may sometimes cause less damage. The game features over 50 enemies with various strengths and weaknesses, and the developers faced challenges placing them effectively in diverse game environments.

The Star Wars saga continues in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a video game developed by LucasArts, where players assume the role of the “Secret Apprentice” to Darth Vader, promising to reveal new discoveries about the Star Wars galaxy. The expanded story, created under the guidance of George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored period between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi and face decisions that could change their destiny.
As the name suggests, The Force Unleashed completely reimagines the scope and scale of the Force. While the PSP version may not provide a robust story developed by LucasArts featuring the Secret Apprentice to Darth Vader, it offers a fun gameplay experience unique to portable devices. With graphics similar to PS2, you can easily immerse yourself in the game, battling through enemies using lightsaber attacks and Force powers. You can also test your Jedi skills against a friend in “Battle Mode” on the PSP. Joining the Dark Side doesn’t seem like a bad idea after all.
