Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is an adventure video game with a Lego theme developed by Traveller’s Tales, published by LucasArts, and TT Games Publishing. It was released on September 11, 2006, as part of the Lego Star Wars series, combining the science fiction media franchise of Star Wars and Lego’s Star Wars-themed game line. The game follows the events of the Star Wars films, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Players can take on the roles of over 50 Lego characters from the film series and can also create custom characters. The camera movement has been improved from its predecessor, Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, with a more comprehensive exploration of the concept of “vehicle levels.”

The game was unveiled at the American International Toy Fair, and promotional displays were set up in stores across the United States.

Lego Star Wars II is a third-person perspective, 3D game set in a world with objects, environments, and characters designed to resemble Lego pieces. While Lego Star Wars followed the events of The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), and Revenge of the Sith (2005), Lego Star Wars II is based on Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). The game humorously retells the events of the trilogy using dialogue-free cutscenes.
