The first complete street fighting game, where you have the ability to create your fighter, buy clothes and jewelry, stoke the fires, combine fighting styles, and even get a tattoo. The game’s story serves as a prelude to the events of Def Jam Vendetta. However, the game uses many of the same situations and characters from Fight for NY, the third game in chronological order in the series. You still play the role of an unknown up-and-coming gang brought into the underground street fighting world after rescuing a game character from trouble with the police. Instead of releasing D-Mob from police custody, as in Fight for NY, tattoo artist Manny is the one rescued from corrupt police officers. Manny takes you to OG, “your teacher,” who guides you on how to fight to take control of the five boroughs in New York City. In the end, OG is killed by Crow, leaving D-Mob to intervene and use you as the number one fighter. In the end, it is revealed that D-Mob was using you to control the five boroughs, control the subway system of New York City, and that he would leave you to fall, leading the police straight to your location. After defeating D-Mob in the final story battle, a one-on-one battle at 125th Street station, you decide to leave the underground fighting scene forever. D-Mob, eventually recovering from the fight, builds his empire, as seen in Vendetta.
